Home Remedies for Teeth Whitening
There are multiple ways for whitening teeth; like brushing, bleaching pen, laser bleaching, and bleaching strips. However, certain home remedies for teeth whitening are also available.
1. Strawberry, Salt and Baking Soda Scrub
Strawberries are high in Vitamin C, which can help break-down plaque that is causing your teeth to look yellow. It also has an enzyme called malic acid, which may help to remove surface stains. The salt acts as an abrasive portion of the paste, physically scrubbing away stain-causing gunk, and the baking soda is an extra touch that you can choose to leave out if you’d prefer.
You will need 1-3 large strawberries, a pinch of seat salt and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.
- Mash the berries into a pulp, and add a pinch of sea salt and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.
- Wipe any extra saliva off your teeth with a paper towel, and then apply a generous portion of the mixture to a toothbrush and apply.
- Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes, then rinse.
- Do this nightly.
2. Orange Peel
Cleaning your teeth with fresh orange peel on a regular basis will reduce the yellow tinge accumulated on your teeth. Rub orange peel over your teeth every night before going to sleep. The vitamin C and calcium in the orange peel will combat the microorganisms throughout the night. Do this for a few weeks and you will notice effective results.
If fresh orange peel is not available, you can use dried orange peel powder.
3. Floss Your Teeth
For some reason, flossing doesn’t come as easily to people as brushing. Still, many dentists and hygienists agree that flossing is more important than brushing. Floss twice daily for the best, teeth-saving results. Just flossing can easily remove the staining between your teeth, helping them look whiter.
Apple helps in increasing the production of saliva. It also helps in maintaining a fresh and clean breath. Eat one apple a day to remove stains from teeth. It is to be kept in mind that apple should be chewed properly in order to extract malic acid. The fibers help in removing the stains.

Either one of these ingredients works well, but together they are super-effective. Only brush with this solution up to once per week as it can wear away the tooth enamel if used too frequently. If irritation occurs, the baking soda may be too abrasive for your gums, so discontinue use. If you’re worried about damaging tooth enamel, try some of the other solutions.
7. Neem and Basil Remedy
Ayurveda provides a number of treatments to whiten the teeth naturally. One of the most effective is that including neem (Margosa) and basil leaves. Make your own tooth paste mixing sundried basil leaves and mustard oil. This paste helps in maintaining dental hygiene and brightening the teeth.
